FIH Mobile, Foxconn Electronics' affiliated handset OD M, has partnered with US-based Ossia to promote the patterns wireless charging technology.
FIH said it is adopting Ossia's Cota Real Wireless Power technology to mobile devices. FIH has taken a stake in Ossia.
Cota Real Wireless Power enables delivery of targeted power to devices at a distance without wire, cable or charging pads and Ossia obtained two certifications for the technology from US Federal Communications Commission in 2019.
The partnership allows FIH to embed the Ossia technology onto mobile devices by virtue of its strong capability of providing design and manufacturing services, not only enlarging the Cota ecosystem but also shortening time to market for Cota-enabled devices, said FIH executive director Kuo Wen-yi.
