Three Major Wireless Power Myths Busted

1. MYTH: Wireless power is an energy hog.

If you’re talking about real wireless power, that is, power delivered over air at a distance, without the need for charging mats or pads, energy drain should not be an issue. Yet some critics continue to believe that all types of wireless power drains power continuously drain power, due to their “always on” status. We can’t speak for all technologies, but with Ossia’s patented RF-based wireless power system, Cota®, this is simply not true.

Cota delivers power to the devices that need it most. If there are no devices that need power, the transformer will go into “standby” mode to conserve energy. Think of wireless power as a trickle charge that follows your device around your office, vehicle, and home, even while it’s in use and in motion. Because you likely will spend so much time with your device in a wireless power-enabled space, your device will never need to “charge.”
